2021 Chevy Blazer Preview: Specs, Price, RS

The current generation of the revived Blazer has been around for a couple of years. That’s why we don’t expect to see any particular changes for the next year. This is still a pretty fresh model and a mid-cycle refresh will have to wait for another year or two. Still, we won’t exclude the possibility to see 2021 Chevy Blazer with some smaller updates. Those would be things like new standard features, color options and similar things.

Still, the overall layout will certainly remain the same. This means you may count on a familiar styling, which is inspired by the current-generation Camaro. This also means you may count on a modern crossover, which rides on a unibody platform and offers quite a comfortable ride. Also, you may count on a pretty generous offer of three different engines, in a wide power range. Given the fact that the next year shouldn’t bring more significant changes, we presume that the 2021 Chevy Blazer release date will be scheduled for the last quarter of the year.

2021 Chevy Blazer Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the Chevy Blazer 2021 definitely won’t change in terms of base design characteristics. We are about to see the same design, which has been introduced a couple of years ago. We saw a comeback of the familiar nameplate in a completely new layout. Unlike the previous generations, this is a modern unibody platform, which rides on a familiar C1 platform. It’s the same one that underprints GMC Acadia. This means you may count on 112.7 inches in wheelbase, which is more than enough for a comfortable cabin and decent cargo area.

In terms of styling, the current model is completely fitted to the brand’s latest design language and takes a lot of inspiration from Camaro. Therefore, we don’t expect any particular change for the next year. Still, there is always a chance to see things like new color options.

Interior

Although a mid-size crossover, this isn’t exactly a family hauler. This crossover belongs to the class of mid-size SUVs with two rows of seats and competes with models like Ford Edge, Honda Passport, Hyundai Santa Fe etc. Still, the amount of space is pretty generous in the offered two rows. We would say that even the tallest passengers may count on comfortable accommodates. The cargo area is decent, though not exactly among the biggest in class. You may count on about 30.5 cubic feet behind the second row, while the overall cargo volume goes around 64.2 cubic feet.

Chevrolet Blazer Interior

When it comes to interior quality, things are pretty good, especially if we consider that Chevy hasn’t been particularly great in this aspect in the past. This model combines soft-touch surfaces with attractive, Camaro-inspired lines nicely, so it’s really hard to find any bigger complaint.

Features

The list of standard equipment may be expanded for the next year, as we already mentioned. Still, that expansion will be minor and most of the things are about to remain the same for the next year. This means we may count on a pretty decent list of standard tech features. It includes things like an  8-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, four USB ports, six speakers, push-button start, proximity keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, a rearview camera etc. In higher trim levels, you can also get things like navigation, enhanced voice recognition, two additional USB ports, satellite radio, an eight-speaker Bose premium sound system, wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hot spot, an 8-inch driver information display, and ambient lighting.

In terms of safety features, the current model comes standard with things like a rearview camera and a rear-seat reminder. Most of the goodies are optional and some of the highlights are lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and following distance indicator.

2021 Chevy Blazer Engines

One of the things we particularly like about this crossover is the powertrain lineup. There are three engines in the offer and we don’t expect that anything will change for the next year. This means that base models will come equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that puts out around 193 horsepower. There is also a recently-added 2.0-liter turbo-four, which is good for about 230 horsepower. This engine offers a great balance between power and efficiency. Finally, there is a well-known 3.6-liter V6, which is good for 308 horsepower. One of the versions with this engine will also be the 2021 Chevy Blazer RS. This is a version that comes with stiffer suspension, more direct handling and many other sporty upgrades.

2021 Chevy Blazer Release Date and Price

We expect to see the next-year model sometime in the second half of the year, though a more precise date is still unavailable. When it comes to the 2021 Chevy Blazer price, base models should go around 29.000 dollars.
