2021 Jeep Compass Facelift, Hybrid, Price

The current generation of this compact crossover has been around for three years, so the next one seems like a good time for updates. FCA doesn’t think different and it has already prepared a plethora of novelties for the next year. The 2021 Jeep Compass refresh is bringing a new, PHEV version, while the company also prepared a couple of visual tweaks. Another important thing to mention is that this model is finally coming to Europe. There, it will come with three engine options in the offer, including a diesel version.

Still, most of the things will remain the same. The next-year model will keep the same design characteristics, both in terms of mechanics and aesthetics. We are talking about an SUV that offers pretty strong off-road performances, which are combined with good ride quality and decent interior design. Also, the list of standard equipment seems more than decent. The 2021 Jeep Compass release date will be scheduled for this fall.

2021 Jeep Compass Design

As we already mentioned, the base layout will certainly remain the same for the next year. We are talking about a model that debuted three years ago, so it really needs no bigger changes. Still, some updates are coming for the next year. While some sources call it 2021 Jeep Compass facelift, we would rather say this is a smaller update. Some visual updates will come, but particularly major. We are about to see some tweaks to the front end, particularly on the front bumper but the overall design will remain largely the same.

On the other side, mechanics will definitely remain the same. This model rides on the company’s familiar Compact US Wide platform and shares many parts with smaller counterparts like Renegade and 500X. Still, it is slightly bigger and more comfortable, as it measures around 104 inches in wheelbase.

Interior

When it comes to interior design, we definitely won’t see any particular changes. The current model already features a pretty attractive dashboard design, while the level of quality is on a pretty high level as well. Typically for the class, the amount of space isn’t particularly great in the second row, though adults can enjoy decent comfort on shorter trips. When it comes to the cargo area, you may count on about 27.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 59.8 cubic feet of the overall cargo volume. Those are decent but still below-average numbers for the class.

Features

Novelties in terms of standard equipment are expected as well, though we don’t expect to see too many of them. Most of the things will remain the same. So, base models will come with tech goodies like a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and similar things. In higher trim levels, you can also get goodies like an 8.4-inch touchscreen, navigation, premium Alpine sound system and more.

When it comes to safety features, a rearview camera will remain the only system on the list of standard equipment. On the other side, lots of advanced systems will be available. Some of the highlights are goodies like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights and many more.

2021 Jeep Compass Engines

When it comes to powertrain, the biggest novelty for the next year will be the addition of 2021 Jeep Compass Hybrid. This model will come with FCA’s new plug-in hybrid system, which puts out around 240 horsepower. All-wheel drive will be standard, while the company claims an all-electric range of around 30 miles, despite that we still don’t know the actual battery capacity.

On the other side, the rest of the offer will remain the same. This means you may count on a familiar 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit, which features a max output of around 180 horsepower. The engine comes in pair with a six-speed manual transmission in a base version, while the 6-speed automatic gearbox is also available. When it comes to fuel economy, this engine returns around 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

2021 Jeep Compass Release Date and Price

We expect to see this model in showrooms in a couple of months. When it comes to the 2021 Jeep Compass price, base models should go around 22.500 dollars. On the other side, we still don’t know the price for the PHEV model.

Jeep Compass Comes To Europe

Another big novelty is that the 2021 Jeep Compass will be offered in Europe as well. So far, we know it will be offered in three powertrain variants. There is a familiar 1.3-liter turbo-four engine, which will be available in two variants, with either 130 or 150 horsepower. You may also count on a familiar 1.6-liter turbodiesel, which puts out around 120 horsepower.
