2021 Nissan Kicks Features and Specs

The automotive world is evolving rapidly and frequent updates became a common thing even among the cheapest car models. The 2021 Nissan Kicks is a perfect example. This small crossover has been around for a couple of years and we are already about to see a big update. The new model is coming with new styling, as well as with notable changes on the inside.

This isn’t just a typical facelift, however. Besides styling changes, the new model also brings novelties under the hood, particularly in terms of the new hybrid version which, unfortunately, won’t be offered here in North America. Instead, the small crossover will stick to a familiar four-cylinder unit in this part of the world.

The 2021 Nissan Kicks facelift version already had a global premiere. The North American version is yet to come and we presume this will happen sometime later in the year. We don’t expect bigger changes in terms of price.

2021 Nissan Kicks Gets New Styling

Without any doubt, the styling changes are most significant in terms of 2021 Nissan Kicks specs. Simply, the company put the focus on aesthetics, which should be one of the main trumps for good sales numbers. The new version brings a completely new front face, which includes new LED headlights, a new bumper and the new version of the company’s well-known V-motion grille, which is now bigger and more prominent. Furthermore, the rear end also comes with a new pair of taillights, while the rear bumper now comes in body color, which hasn’t been the case so far. Of course, you may count on typical updates too, such as new color options and wheels. Speaking of the color options, there are new finishes – Black Star, Storm White, Radiant Red, Gun Metallic, Brilliant Silver and Monarch Orange. You can also opt for a two-tone color combination, which gives a more premium look to this crossover.

Changes on the inside are coming as well. They won’t be as massive as those on the outside, but there is still a lot of interesting things to see. Of course, most of them will happen on the dashboard, where we are about to see a new 8-inch touchscreen, equipped with the latest infotainment system, which will also include smartphone goodies like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Furthermore, you may count on a new steering wheel, which looks way better than the old one, as well as a centrally-mounted digital instrument cluster. Finally, there is a two-tone Black and Orange interior scheme, available in the VL models.

Other than that, the cabin will remain pretty much the same. This means you may count on a quite spacious cabin for the class, which can accommodate adults in both rows. The cargo area is also pretty good for the class, while we particularly like the visibility, which is good in all directions.

2021 Nissan Kicks Specs

Despite all the updates, the 2021 Nissan Kicks remains essentially the same vehicle as to the pre-facelifted version. We are still talking about a model that rides on a good-old V platform, which has been in use for many models from the Alliance. The dimensions are the same and despite that the 2021 Nissan Kicks interior gets some novelties, the amount of occupant room has remained intact.

When it comes to the powertrain, the company has recently presenter a hybrid version. This model is based on a small 1.2-liter turbo three-cylinder engine, which comes coupled with a 1.57-kWh battery pack. The total output goes around 127 horsepower. However, this version won’t be offered in North America. In this part of the world, the 2021 Nissan Kicks will carry on with a familiar 1.6-liter four-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine, which delivers around 123 horsepower and 114 pound-feet of torque. Of course, the engine comes in pair with Nissan’s familiar CVT gearbox.
