2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo Preview: Specs and Features

The current generation of the iconic SUV has been around for a full decade. Logically, we saw all kinds of updates and tweaks during this production cycle, including the last year’s facelift. That was the second facelift of the current generation and if we consider that changes are pretty significant, there is no doubt that the current generation will remain in production for a few more years. This also indicates that we could see a hi-performance version again, which would this time come as the 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo.

The upgraded version was launched especially for the Middle East and it arriver a year before the facelift. It included all kinds of upgrades, including a more powerful engine. We expect to see the latest iteration, based on the facelifted version and it should arrive already in the next year. What we don’t expect is to see some drastic changes in terms of the base design approach.

As we’ve just mentioned, changes in terms of the base design approach shouldn’t happen. So, other than the new face, the new 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo shouldn’t feature any particular differences compared to the pre-facelifted version. That means you may count on several upgrades compared to the standard model, starting from a new suspension, with Bilstein shocks and other a few more chassis upgrades.

Besides mechanics, this version will also feature a couple of styling tweaks. In order to accentuate its hi-performance character, this Patrol will come with revisions in terms of new, more aggressive bumpers, new wheels, exhaust pipes and similar things. Still, the overall styling approach will be heavily based on the recent facelift. This means you may count on new headlights, a new grille and other updates that arrived with the last-year facelift.

Interior

On the inside, we also count on several exclusive features that will accentuate the model’s sporty character. This will primarily refer to color schemes, while we could also see some new materials and similar things. On the other side, the overall cabin layout will remain pretty much the same. That means you may count on the same dashboard design, which has been recently updated with a couple of interesting things. For example, there is a new infotainment system, which now includes a dual-screen setup, similar to the one that can be found in some Infiniti models.

In terms of practicality and functionality, things won’t be much different compared to the standard model. With 121.1 inches in wheelbase, this is a pretty big vehicle that ensures plenty of space in all three rows of seats. The cargo area also offers some pretty respectable numbers and it’s pretty hard to find something similar in this part of the world.

2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo Engine

The previous Nismo version came with a small power boost and the max output was around 428 horsepower. For the next year, we might see a little bit more power, as the standard model also came with a power increase. Of course, we are talking about a well-known 5.6-liter V8 engine, which comes in pairs with a 7-speed automatic transmission. The exact 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo specs are yet to come. Still, some sources suggest that the max output could go up to 450 horsepower or something like that. More details will be known soon.
