Even though the current generation has been around for just a couple of years, the Japanese manufacturer decided to bring updates. These novelties are strictly focused on those critical points, which were considered as drawbacks. This includes the engine as well, considering that one of the biggest complaints so far was about the weak 2.0-liter engine. That’s 30 horses more, so it’s no wonder that differences in terms of dynamics are quite notable. Just like the standard engine, this one is also available with either manual or CVT gearbox.
The best thing is that the new engine isn’t much thirstier at all. While the base engine returns up to 30 miles per gallon in a combined ride, the new 2.5-liter unit goes down for just one mpg.
Some sources were also suggesting the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek Sport turbo version. There were even talks about the new 2.4-liter turbo-four, but that seems like way too much power for such a small crossover. Therefore, we are pretty sure that the current generation will stick to naturally aspirated units.
On the other side, we don’t expect that the hybrid version with two electric motors and 148 horsepower will be offered in this trim level.
Interior
