2023 Audi Q5 Hybrid Preview, Specs, Price

After the last year’s refresh, we expect that the current generation of Audi’s compact crossover will remain in production for some more time. We count on a familiar design and features, including the powertrain offer. The latter means that the 2023 Audi Q5 Hybrid will also continue in the same way, with a powerful but not so efficient plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Compared to gasoline-only models in the lineup, the Q5 PHEV doesn’t offer too many differences. The overall design is the same, as well as the cabin design interior space and similar things. Therefore, you may count on familiar pros and cons. When it comes to good things, we like the Q5’s interior quality, as well intuitive infotainment system. On the other hand, the cargo area is smaller compared to rivals, while the starting price seems pretty high, especially when compared to the standard, gasoline-powered version.

As there are no significant changes to come, we expect that the 2023 Audi Q5 Hybrid will hit the market sometime late in the year.

2023 Audi Q5 Hybrid Design

As we already mentioned, the 2023 Audi Q5 Hybrid isn’t much different compared to the rest of the lineup. Moreover, things are pretty much the same and even the styling doesn’t stand out in any way. This means that you may count on a crossover that has been updated last year with a couple of interesting visual changes. However, it starts a little bit old when compared to key competitors.

The mechanical aspect of the vehicle hasn’t changed since the initial launch of the generation. Therefore, you may count on a familiar layout, based on the MLB platform, which comes with a suspension setup that offers a good balance between comfort and athleticism. Still, rivals like BMW X3 feel way more engaging to drive.

Interior

When it comes to interior design, there is really nothing to complain about. The overall quality is pretty good. Nice materials are all around the cabin, and there is also a lot of attention to detail. Furthermore, we like the dashboard design, which combined conservative aesthetics with lots of modern tech features.

The seating position is good, though the seats could be more comfortable. On the other hand, the amount of leg and headroom in the first row is great, while the second row is pretty impressive too.

On the other hand, the cargo area isn’t all that impressive. It offers around 25.8 cubic feet behind the second row and a maximum of 54 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. That’s below-average for the segment.

Features

As we already mentioned, the 2023 Audi Q5 Hybrid will be a typical carryover model and therefore, we don’t believe it could bring more important changes in terms of standard and available equipment. Therefore, all models should come standard with goodies like a 10.1-inch touch screen, Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, two USB ports, HD Radio, a 10-speaker stereo, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and wireless device charging, as well as tri-zone automatic climate control, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster display, a universal garage door opener, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The list of available features should include goodies like a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, proximity keyless entry, and a panoramic sunroof, satellite radio, navigation, a 19-speaker audio system etc.

When it comes to safety features, all models should come standard with goodies like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and front and rear parking sensors, rearview camera etc. Also, we count on available features like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, surround-view camera, head-up display, traffic-sign recognition etc.

2023 Audi Q5 Hybrid Powertrain

Things under the hood definitely won’t change. The 2023 Audi Q5 Hybrid will continue with a familiar system, which is based on a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, which comes coupled with a 141-hp electric motor, for a combined output of 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. The system comes coupled with an 11.4-kWh battery pack, which ensures around 19 miles of the all-electric range.

When it comes to performance, this SUV needs around 4.5 seconds to hit 60 mpg. The top speed is limited to 128 mph.
