2023 Audi Q5 Preview: Features, S-Line, Price

The current generation of Audi’s compact crossover has been around for a while but despite the age, it still has a couple of good years before it receives a redesign. From what we know so far, the 2023 Audi Q5 is expected to be a typical carryover model, which would come with minor tweaks only. Those minor tweaks refer to things like new color options and a few more features on the list of standard equipment.

Other than that, things will remain the same. So, you may count on a crossover that still has a lot of good things to offer. It comes with one of the nicest cabins in the class, while there is also a pretty generous amount of tech features. Furthermore, the engine lineup includes a few pretty capable options, while the composed handling ensures pretty balanced ride quality.

As there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2023 Audi Q5 release date will be scheduled for the last quarter of 2022.

2023 Audi Q5 Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Audi Q5 redesign won’t happen. We are about to see a familiar design, which hasn’t changed significantly since the 2017 launch. Still, keep in mind the mid-cycle update from a couple of years ago, which has brought a new, Q8-inspired front end and a few more upgrades. Also, it’s worth mentioning that the 2022 model year has brought a novelty in the way that all models now come with the S-Line appearance package, which makes this crossover look pretty attractive even in the cheapest versions.

Another novelty that came with 2022 is the new Black Optics visual package, which brings a couple of pretty exclusive styling details. Of course, it’s mostly about blacked-out interior, as well as about massive 20-inch wheels.

Interior

On the inside, the 2023 Q5 will hardly bring any notable change. Simply, we are about to see a familiar design, which still looks great, despite the age. The aesthetics are nice, while the most impressive thing about this cabin is the build quality, which is pretty impressive. The materials are really nice, while there is also a lot of attention to detail. Finally, there’s a fair amount of tech features, which makes this interior look even nicer.

Besides the good build quality, this cabin also offers a good level of comfort. The front seats are massive and supportive, while the second row also accommodates adults with ease. The cargo space depends on the version you choose. The standard SUV model is good for about 25.8 cubic feet behind the second row and a maximum of 54 cubic feet. On the other hand, the Sportback version comes with a bit of a sloping roof, which reduces the volume to 24.7 cubic feet of room under the hatch and expands to 51.9.

Features

A few novelties here and there are possible but we are pretty sure that most of the things will remain the same for the next year when it comes to standard and available equipment. Therefore, all models should come standard with goodies like tri-zone automatic climate control, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster display, a universal garage door opener, auto-dimming rearview mirror, 10.1-inch touch screen, Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, two USB ports, HD Radio, a 10-speaker stereo, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and wireless device charging.

The list of options is pretty generous too. It includes goodies like a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, proximity keyless entry, panoramic sunroof, satellite radio and a 19-speaker audio system.

When it comes to safety, all models should come standard with goodies like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors etc.

2023 Audi Q5 Engines

This aspect of the car definitely won’t bring changes. We expect to see three familiar powertrain options in the offer, starting from a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 261 horsepower. That’s enough power to satisfy most drivers.

However, those who are looking for something peppier can opt for the SQ5 version, which comes equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 and features a max output of 349 horsepower. Besides more power, this version comes with other upgrades, such as suspension, brakes, styling etc.

Finally, you may count on the 2023 Audi Q5 Hybrid, which combines the turbo-four engine with an electric motor, for a total output of 362 horsepower. Besides strong acceleration, this version also offers 19 miles of the all-electric range.

2023 Audi Q5 Release Date and Price

Considering that there are no bigger changes to come, we presume that the launch date will be scheduled for the last quarter of 2022. The base price should go around 45.000 dollars, while the 2023 Audi Q5 Sportback should start at around 49.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like BMW X3, Acura RDX, Volvo XC60 etc.
