A year ago, Ford revived the legendary SUV and if we consider that the next year will be the third production year of the new generation, it’s hard to expect bigger changes. The same thing goes for the Raptor model, which was introduced with the 2022 model year. This version comes with additional off-road upgrades, as well as with a more powerful engine, so it’s hard to believe that bigger changes could happen just one year after its launch, even though there are some rumours about the Raptor R model, which would feature even more power.
All in all, you may count on an SUV that is one of the most capable off-roaders around. However, that’s not Bronco’s only quality. This SUV also offers pretty capable engine options, as well as a roomy cabin in the four-door model. Finally, we really like the intuitive infotainment system. On the other hand, the biggest complaint goes to poor fuel economy, while cabin insulation isn’t particularly impressive either.
As there are no significant changes to come, we expect that the 2023 Ford Bronco will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2023 Ford Bronco Design
Design-wise, the 2023 Ford Bronco and Bronco Raptor will continue in the same way. This model was revived just a year ago and it is still very fresh in every aspect. Of course, it comes with pretty unique styling and that’s definitely one of its selling points. Just like its closest rival, the Wrangler, it is available in two body styles as a two- and four-door SUV.
Still, styling isn’t the biggest selling point of this SUV. Buyers usually think of off-road performance when choosing Ford Bronco. Simply, even the most basic version comes with pretty serious off-road hardware, which includes things like standard four-wheel drive, locking differentials, disconnecting sway bar, skid plates etc. Also, there are various drive modes you can choose, such as Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, and Sand. The Raptor trim comes with additional upgrades, such as 37-inch tires, longer-travel suspension and the ground clearance that goes all-away up to 13.1 inches.
On the inside, the 2023 Ford Bronco will also continue in the same way. This SUV features a bold and rugged dashboard design, while the whole cabin is more about durability and a premium feel. Therefore, most of the cabin is covered with plastic and other hard-touch materials. One of the biggest complaints goes to the sound insulation, which is pretty disappointing, especially if we consider the price tag.
The two-row model accommodates up to four people. The front seats and spacious and comfortable, while the second row also offers a decent amount of space. Also, you may count on 22.4 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 52.3 cubic feet of the total volume.
The four-door model offers way more space in the second row and accommodates five adult passengers with ease. The cargo area is good for about 35.6 and 77.6 cubic feet in the hardtop model, while the soft top model offers 38 cubic feet behind the second row and 83 cubic feet behind the front row of seats. These are pretty impressive numbers for the class.
We might see a couple of novelties in this aspect but most of the things are about to remain the same. So, base models should come standard with goodies like an 8-inch digital gauge cluster, an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HD Radio, satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, four USB ports, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. Among upgrades, you can find things like dual-zone climate control, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12-inch touch screen, navigation, a 10-speaker sound system, wireless device charging, and two additional USB ports.
2023 Ford Bronco Engines
The 2023 Ford Bronco will continue with three familiar engine options on the offer. Base models will continue with a familiar 2.3-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 300 horsepower, which is plenty enough to satisfy most drivers. Those who prefer six cylinders can opt for the 2.7-liter engine, which is good for about 330 horsepower. Finally, the Bronco Raptor comes with a new 3.0-liter V6, which is good for about 400 horsepower.
All three engines come in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which does a pretty good job. The base turbo-four is also available with a new 7-speed manual transmission, which has a very positive impact on the driving experience.
Some sources also speculate about the possible arrival of Raptor R, which would come as an answer to the 475-hp Wrangler 392. We presume that this version would feature a 3.5-liter twin-turbo engine, which puts out 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. The officials are still quiet about this.
2023 Ford Bronco Release Date and Price
We expect to see 2023 Ford Bronco sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 30.000 dollars. The Bronco Raptor will go around 70.000 dollars.
