2023 Genesis GV70 Electric: Specs, Features, Price

It’s been a while since Genesis took the premium market by storm and offered an incomparable level of luxury for the money. Today, the Korean luxury brand is much more than that, as it is about to offer the third all-electric vehicle in the lineup, the 2023 Genesis GV70 Electric. Of course, the new model will be based on the standard, gasoline-powered GV70, but with a dual-motor setup that promises quite impressive performances. According to the latest reports, the sales will start pretty soon.

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Genesis GV70 Electric will be heavily based on the standard ICE model. So, it will benefit from the same features. Besides all-electric performance, this SUV will come with a super-fine cabin design that combines nice materials with lots of tech features. Also, the ride is smooth and comfortable, while the price should remain quite competitive as well.

2023 Genesis GV70 Electric Drivetrain

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Genesis GV70 Electric will feature a familiar design but a completely new powertrain. The duo of capable gasoline engines will be replaced with an even more capable, all-electric setup. That setup will consist of two electric motors, one of each axle, with a total output of 483 horsepower. That should be enough to ensure a 0-60 sprint in less than 4.5 seconds.

When it comes to the battery pack, the exact capacity is still unknown. On the other hand, most reports suggest around 300 miles of range, with a 350kW charging speed. The company claims superior charging speeds, where 80 percent of the battery will be charged in just 20 minutes.

The rest of the lineup will continue in the same way, with two familiar gasoline engines – a 2.5-liter turbo-four and a 3.5-liter turbo V6.

2023 Genesis GV70 Electric Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Genesis GV70 Electric will feature largely the same design as the gasoline-powered version. We will see the same chassis and suspension setup, which is well-balanced and offers a good mix of comfort and athleticism. The ride is smooth and comfortable, but engaging at the same time. Of course, the all-electric version will be heavier, but also with lower ground clearance, so driving manners will be slightly different.

2023 Genesis GV70 Electric specs

When it comes to aesthetics, you can clearly see that the main difference is at the front, where the new 2023 Genesis GV70 Electric features a different grille design, which is closed, with an interesting pattern, which clearly indicates the model’s all-electric nature. Furthermore, the rear end comes with a few differences as well, particularly on the rear bumper, as there is no exhaust. Naturally, the wheels are also different, and we count on some exclusive color options to be offered as well.

Interior

From what we can see, the interior might come with some new color combinations but the overall cabin layout will remain the same. Therefore, expect to see the same dashboard design, which offers elegant aesthetics in a combination of super-fine materials. This crossover offers spectacular build quality for the class, and the all-electric iteration will be no different.

When it comes to passenger space, the front seats will remain unchanged. They offer plenty of room, in a combination with well-shaped seats and good side support. The driving position is very good too. The second row should remain pretty much the same as well, with a little bit less room than seats at the front. Due to the battery pack, the cargo area might be compromised a little bit. For reference, the gasoline model offers around 29 cubic feet behind the second row and 57 cubic feet of the total volume.

Features

Of course, things could be a little bit different compared to the gasoline version, though a big portion of things should remain unchanged. For reference, the gasoline model comes standard with things like a 14.5-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a nine-speaker audio system, HD Radio, satellite radio, wireless device charging, four USB ports, Bluetooth, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, proximity keyless entry and remote start. We presume that the all-electric version would come standard with the digital instrument cluster as well.

The current model also comes with a long list of options, so some of them could become part of the standard equipment in the Electrified GV70. Some of the highlights are tri-zone automatic climate control, ambient LED interior lighting, a 110-volt household-style power outlet, a panoramic sunroof and the Genesis Digital Key, as well as a premium 16-speaker Lexicon audio system.

2023 Genesis GV70 Electric Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2023 Genesis GV70 Electric will arrive in the next few months. The starting price should go around 67.000 dollars, which indicates that the key competitors will be models like the Audi e-tron, Cadillac Lyriq etc.
