2023 Jeep Wagoneer Preview: Specs, Features, Trailhawk

The legendary Wagoneer came back after a decades-long hiatus and the new iteration seems better than ever. The comeback model debuted for the 2022 model year, with a completely new design and we are pretty sure that the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer, which will represent the second production year, will come without more important updates. However, some sources speculate about the possibility to see the Trailhawk version, which is a pretty common trim level among Jeep models and represents some of the most capable off-roaders in the lineup.

Whether the new version arrives or not, we are about to see the same overall design, which debuted last year. Besides strong off-road capabilities, this SUV has a lot more to offer, starting from the luxurious cabin design and plenty of interior space. Furthermore, we really like the available adjustable air suspension, which makes the ride butter-smooth. Finally, there is the muscular naturally-aspirated V8, something that’s pretty hard to find these days.

As there are no significant changes to come, we expect that the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2023 Jeep Wagoneer Design

As we’ve just mentioned, this will be the second production year of the revived model and therefore, it’s easy to conclude that most of the things will remain the same. We expect to see a familiar design, based on a body-on-frame platform, which ensures some pretty impressive things, starting from the 10.000-pound max towing capacity. At the same time, models with the optional air suspension ensure a smooth and super comfortable ride.

Some sources speculate about the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer Trailhawk, which would come with additional off-road upgrades. What’s important to keep in mind is that the current model is already available with lots of these features, such as a two-speed transfer case, upgraded tires, skid plates, hill descent control etc. We presume that the Trailhawk would add a few more things, such as locking differentials, upgraded shocks and tires. Also, we would probably see a couple of exclusive styling details.

Interior

When it comes to the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer interior, we don’t expect to see any notable changes. The next year’s model is about to continue in the same way, with the familiar cabin layout, characterized by pretty luxurious materials and great build quality. There is a lot of attention to detail, while the long list of standard and available tech features makes the cabin look even more impressive.

Besides great quality, this SUV also offers a great amount of space. All three rows are spacious enough to accommodate adult passengers, while the cargo area also offers some pretty serious numbers. You may count on about 27.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind its third-row seats, 70.8 cubic feet with these seats folded, and 116.7 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded. That’s pretty good for a full-size SUV.

Features

Although there is a chance to see a couple of new things on the lists of standard and available equipment, we are pretty sure that most of the things are about to remain the same for the next year. Therefore, all models should come standard with goodies like tri-zone climate control, keyless entry, push-button start, a 10.1-inch touch screen, a 10.3-inch digital gauge cluster, navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Bluetooth, eight USB ports, satellite radio, and a nine-speaker stereo. Furthermore, there are optional features like a panoramic sunroof, a 10.3-inch passenger-side touch screen, a 19-speaker stereo, and a rear-seat entertainment system with two 10.1-inch displays and Amazon Fire TV.

When it comes to safety features, all models should come standard with goodies like a rearview camera,

front and rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control etc.

2023 Jeep Wagoneer Engine

Things under the hood will definitely remain unchanged. The 2023 Jeep Wagoneer will continue with a
5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine, which comes with a mild-hybrid system and a total output of 392 horsepower and 404 pound-feet of torque. The engine comes in pair with excellent 8-speed transmission and the overall performance is more than satisfying.

Also, we really like the Wagoneer’s impressive max towing capacity, which goes up to 10.000 pounds. What’s not so impressive is fuel economy, which goes around 15 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.

2023 Jeep Wagoneer Release Date and Price

Whether the Trailhawk arrives or not, we are pretty sure that the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year. The base price shouldn’t change much either, so standard models should cost around 69.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Ford Expedition, Chevy Tahoe, Toyota Sequoia etc.
