2023 Lexus LX600 Redesign, Price, Release Date

The new generation of the legendary Toyota Land Cruiser may not be offered in North America but the consolation comes in the form of the 2023 Lexus LX600. The new generation of Lexus’s flagship model once again comes as a more luxurious iteration of Toyota’s legend. Once again, the key difference is the styling, as well as the cabin design. On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the car is largely the same.

So, you may count on a model that brings completely new styling and cabin design, along with new technologies in various aspects. We particularly like the mechanical aspect of the vehicle. There are new powertrain options, a new suspension setup and lots of hardware useful for off-roading.

Once again, the LX will be offered in North America, as well as in a few more parts of the world, such as the Middle East, Russia etc.

2023 Lexus LX600 Redesign

When it comes to the 2023 Lexus LX600 redesign, there is a large number of novelties to mention. Compared to the previous generation, we can say that this is a completely new model, which is no wonder considering that the previous iteration was in production for 14 years. The new model is based on Toyota’s new TNGA-F platform, a body-on-frame version of the new modular architecture.

Compared to the previous generation, the new model is slightly bigger, more rigid and significantly lighter (over 400 pounds). It also features a completely new suspension setup, which offers a way better ride quality on the road, without sacrificing off-road performance. The new suspension is height-adjustable and Toyota calls it the Kinematic Dynamic Suspension system. Furthermore, you may count on the new Multi-Terrain Select system. This system automatically scans the road surface and picks the right drive mode for it.

Exterior Design

When it comes to the exterior design, one of the most interesting things is that the overall size is very similar to the previous model. The wheelbase is the same, while the other measurements are very similar. On the other hand, there is a completely new styling.

From what we can see in the photos, the overall shape is pretty much the same as on the new Land Cruiser. The side profile looks nearly identical, while the key difference is at the front and rear ends. At the front, you can see a completely new face, based on the brand’s latest version of the famous spindle grille design. The rear end also comes with unique taillights and a rear fascia design.

Interior

The cabin design looks like the key difference to use when comparing the 2023 Lexus LX600 with Land Cruiser 300. While Toyota’s model already looks very luxurious, the LX brings everything to the next level. From what we can see in photos, the cabin looks really stylish, while the dashboard comes with a duo of infotainment screens on the center console. The instrument cluster is digital too.

At this point, it’s early to talk about materials and overall quality. Still, we have no doubt this is going to be at Lexus’s typical level. So, we don’t expect any flaws regarding quality.

When it comes to the seating configurations, the latest reports suggest that the standard model will come with two rows of seats, while the third row will be options. Also, the second-row captain’s chairs will be offered in both two- and three-row models.

Naturally, the cabin will be loaded with all kinds of tech features, starting from an 8-inch instrument screen, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and a 7-inch screen for climate controls. Things like wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, wireless charging and wi-fi hotspot should be standard as well, while a 25-speaker Mark Levinson audio system will be offered as optional.

2023 Lexus LX600 Engine

One of the biggest changes compared to the previous generation is the new engine. The good-old 5.7-liter V8 has been discontinued and the replacement comes in a smaller twin-turbo V6. The new engine puts out around 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, which is more power and notably more torque compared to the V8. Also, there is a new 10-speed automatic transmission.

Besides, the 2023 Lexus LX600, we also expect to see a hybrid version. We presume that the system will be the same as in the new Tundra, which means a combination of a V6 engine and electric motors, for a total output of 437 horsepower and 573 pound-feet of torque. This one will also use a 10-speed automatic transmission.
