2024 Audi Q7: What to Expect?

The original Q7 was in production for a full decade and it looks like the current model won’t be any different. Namely, the second generation was introduced way back in 2015 and it is still in production. Moreover, it will remain in production for some more time, as the redesign was pushed to 2025. Therefore, we expect the 2024 Audi Q7 to come without more important changes, with familiar design characteristics and features, with minor changes only.

This means that you may count on a familiar design, which still has a lot of good things to offer, despite the age. We like Audi’s ride quality very much, as it perfectly balances comfort and athleticism. Furthermore, the engine opitons are pretty capable, while the high-quality interior also includes some pretty impressive tech features. On the other hand, the key complaints are about the small cargo area and tight third row, while fuel economy isn’t impressive either.

As there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2024 Audi Q7 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2024 Audi Q7 Design

In terms of base design characteristics, the 2024 Audi Q7 will carry on in the same way. The current generation has been around for a long time, but it received a facelift in 2020. So, the styling still seems fresh, with modern aesthetical solutions and appealing design. The next year’s model shouldn’t feature any particular change in this aspect, but we presume that the company could offer some minor novelties, such as new color options, for example.

On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle definitely won’t change. This mid-size crossover rides on a familiar MLB platform and offers a pretty refined suspension setup, which ensures a super smooth and comfortable ride. At the same time, the company’s famous Quattro all-wheel drive system is standard and ensures a pretty respectable level of athleticism.

Interior

Despite the age, the Q7 features one of the nicest interiors in the class. We like its classy cabin design, with a conservative dashboard and center console, which utilize simple lines but come wrapped with high-quality materials. The rest of the cabin is also mainly about soft-touch materials, while the generous amount of tech features make the cabin look even better.

The driving position is very good, whether it’s ergonomics or outward visibility. The front seats are massive and supportive, with plenty of space and lots of adjustability options. Things aren’t much different in the second row, which also accommodates adult passengers with ease and offers impressive comfort. On the other hand, the third row is very tight and works only for kids. The cargo area is also small by segment standards. It offers around 14.2 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 35.7 cubic feet behind the second, and 69.6 cubic feet of the total volume.

Tech Features

Since this will be mostly a carryover model, we expect that the list of standard and available equipment won’t change much. Therefore, base models should come with goodies like a 10.1-inch upper touch screen, an 8.6-inch lower touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, navigation, Bluetooth, USB ports, a Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio, HD Radio, and a 10-speaker stereo. The list of standard equipment also includes convenience features like a push-button start, proximity keyless entry, a panoramic sunroof, and tri-zone automatic climate control.

Among options, there are goodies like wireless device charging, a 19-speaker Bose stereo, a 23-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, and quad-zone automatic climate control.

2024 Audi Q7 Engines

Once again, no bigger changes are expected. So, we expect that base models will continue with a 2.0-liter turbo-four that puts out around 248 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. It won’t blow your mind but this base engine seems more than decent for daily commuting.

If you’re looking for something peppier, there is a familiar 3.0-liter turbo V6, which puts out around 335 horsepower. Need more? There is also the SQ7 version, equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which puts out around 500 horsepower.

All three engines come in pair with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

When it comes to fuel economy, the base turbo four is good for about 19 mpg in the city and 23 mpg, which is very low for the class. The V6 offers similar ratings, while the V8-powered model returns around 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway.

2024 Audi Q7 Release Date and Price

Since there are no significant changes to come, we expect that the 2024 Audi Q7 will arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 59.000 dollars. Of course, the competition will remain the same, mainly in the form of arch-rivals like the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE.
