2024 Buick Enclave: What to Expect?

The largest vehicle in Buick’s lineup walks on a fine line between premium and mainstream segments. It is a well-rounded SUV, strong in many aspects. However, the current generation has been around since 2018 and despite the last year’s refresh, it still has a few points that would use improvements. For that reason, the new generation is already in development. It will most likely arrive in the next year, as the 2025 model. On the other hand, the 2024 Buick Enclave should represent the final production year of the current generation and for that reason, it shouldn’t feature bigger changes.

So, what we expect to see is a familiar design, with familiar features. This SUV still has a couple of great things to offer, starting from the spacious cabin and smooth ride. The infotainment system is intuitive, while the cargo area is very generous. The 2025 model year, on the other hand, will bring a completely new design, with tons of novelties, including the powertrain.

The current model has been around since 2018 and the 2022 refresh, which was initially planned for 2021, also brought a full load of impressive changes. The same thing could be said for the mechanics. This model rides on a familiar C1 platform and shares a lot of parts with models like Chevy Traverse. However, it features a notably more refined suspension and chassis setup, which results in a notably smoother ride compared to Chevy’s crossover. The Enclave may not be the most athletic SUV around, but it is smooth, comfortable and refined.

Interior

The recent refresh also brought some changes to the inside, though there weren’t all that significant. Instead, the cabin looks familiar and, unfortunately, it started to show its age. The cabin is far from bad but we would expect a little bit more from a vehicle with this price tag. On the other hand, the amount of space is impressive, This SUV offers three spacious rows of seats, along with a very generous cargo area.

Also, there is a pretty generous amount of standard and available equipment. Base models come standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hot spot, satellite radio, HD Radio, Bluetooth, a six-speaker audio system and six USB ports, and we don’t believe things could change drastically for the next year. We also count on available features like navigation, a 120-volt household-style power outlet, a Bose 10-speaker premium audio system, an 8-inch digital gauge cluster and a panoramic moonroof.

2024 Buick Enclave Engines

As for the powertrain, the 2024 Buick Enclave won’t feature any changes. We are about to see a familiar 3.6-liter V6, which puts out around 310 horsepower. The engine comes with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which does a pretty decent job. Driving dynamics are good, whether you choose an FWD or AWD version.

When it comes to fuel economy, you may count on up to 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, which is about average for the segment. Most capable variants can tow up to 5.000 pounds.

2024 Buick Enclave Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2024 Buick Enclave will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 45.000 dollars. The competition will remain the same, and include both lower-end premium models like Acura MDX and Infiniti QX60, and higher-end mainstream models, such as the Mazda CX-90.

What to Expect from the 2025 Redesign?

The new generation of Buick Enclave is already in the works and we expect to see it sometime in the next year. That should be GM’s new VSS-F architecture. Once again, we will see a transverse engine with a front-wheel drive and an available AWD layout.

Simply, the current model lags behind the competition, so Buick will have to make a big step forward in this aspect to remain relevant in the market. Besides improvements in quality, we also count on a full load of new tech features. Finally, there is the new engine to come. That should be the new 2.7-liter turbo, which comes in several output versions, including the most powerful with 310 horses and an impressive 430 pound-feet of torque.
