After the short absence from the market, the Trax is coming back completely redesigned. The new generation brings various novelties and seems more upscale than before. With the new design language, it feels more aggressive and attractive, so we are pretty sure that it will be able to attract more buyers than before. Still, it’s important to know that aesthetics aren’t the only things to change with this redesign. The 2024 Chevy Trax is also bringing a completely new interior, with a more upscale appearance and more passenger room.

The mechanical aspect of the vehicle is also completely new. There is a new platform, along with the new chassis setup. Naturally, the company also brings a new powertrain, with less power but better fuel efficiency. The new model is notably bigger, so there is no doubt it will be more practical as well.

2024 Chevy Trax Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Chevy Trax is coming completely redesigned for the next year and it’s easy to see that the changes are significant. That’s no wonder if we consider that the previous model was in production for nearly a decade. The new generation brings major changes, starting from the new platform. As you may presume, the new model rides on GM’s new VSS-F architecture, the same one that underpins the TrailBlazer.

Naturally, there is the new styling, which follows the brand’s latest design language. The front end comes with a lot of sharp lines, similar to the mid-size Blazer and the aforementioned TrailBlazer. On the other end, you can notice a bit of a sloping roofline, so the new 2024 Chevy Trax looks a little bit like a coupe crossover. Also, this redesign brings notable changes in terms of size. The new model is notably bigger, with a nearly 6-inch longer wheelbase and more than 10 inches in total length.

Interior

Of course, this redesign also brings a completely new interior design and the first impressions are really good. You can see a pretty attractive dashboard, with modern aesthetics and a lot of new tech features. The latter particularly refers to the more expensive variants, which will come with a bigger screen and digital instrument cluster. Also, we like the fact that there is still a decent number of physical buttons and knobs, especially when it comes to climate controls.

As we already mentioned, the new model features a notably longer wheelbase and, as a result, the amount of passenger room increased compared to the previous generation. This particularly refers to the second row, which offers three more inches of legroom, which allows it to accommodate adults pretty easily.

Considering the bigger overall dimensions, it’s no wonder that the cargo area also offers more space. In numbers, that would be around 25.5 cubic feet behind the second row and 54 cubic feet of the total volume. That’s pretty good for the class and also a 12-percent increase compared to the previous generation.

Tech and Safety Features

When it comes to tech features, the new generation will have a lot to offer. Base versions will come with a smaller 8-inch screen and an analog instrument cluster, while the bigger 11-inch infotainment screen and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster will be available already in the mid-range versions. The bigger screen also brings upgrades in terms of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the list of options will also include goodies like wireless charging, Wi-Fi hotspot etc.

When it comes to safety features, all models should come standard with goodies like automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist etc. Among upgrades, expect to find goodies like adaptrive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert etc.

2024 Chevy Trax Engines

The 2024 Chevy Trax will come in just one version when it comes to powertrain. That will be a small 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, which puts out around 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. That’s a notable power decrease compared to the previous generation, which was good for about 155 horsepower. On the other hand, the company promises better efficiency and improved driving experience, thanks to the new 6-speed automatic.

All versions will feature front-wheel drive, while we estimate fuel economy of around 29 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.

2024 Chevy Trax Release Date and Price

As we already mentioned, the new 2024 Chevy Trax should arrive this spring, with a starting price of a little bit over 21.000 dollars.
