After the recent mid-cycle refresh, which has brought a lot of novelties, we expect that the current generation of Ford’s compact SUV will remain in production for a few more years. So, the 2024 Ford Escape Hybrid shouldn’t bring more important changes, although there’s always room for smaller-scale updates, especially in terms of standard and available equipment. In any case, we don’t expect to see any drastic change, whether it’s about mechanics or aesthetics.
Therefore, you may count on an SUV that has a lot of good things to offer. With the recent refresh, the vehicle looks pretty attractive, and we also like its driving manners, both in terms of comfort and athleticism. Furthermore, the cabin is spacious and decently equipped, while both hybrid versions are very efficient.
Considering that no bigger changes are about to happen for the next year, we presume that the 2024 Ford Escape Hybrid will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2024 Ford Escape Hybrid Design
As we’ve just mentioned, no bigger changes are expected for the next year. The 2024 Ford Escape Hybrid will come only a year after the mid-cycle refresh, so we expect to see the same styling, which now looks bolder, more elegant and more mature than before. Of course, the biggest changes happened at the front, where you can see a new pair of headlights, along with a new grille and many other modifications. So, the best we could see for the next year are minor updates, like new color options.
The same thing is with the mechanics. We expect to see the same layout, based on a familiar C2 platform. The Escape benefits from a pretty refined suspension setup, so the driving manners are pretty good. The SUV is easy to drive and quite engaging but remains pretty smooth and comfortable at the same time.
The current generation is expected to remain in production for a few more years and, therefore, we don’t believe that the cabin design could change before we see a complete redesign. So, we count on the same cabin layout, which may not be the flashiest one in the class, but definitely offers more than decent build quality. The materials aren’t as fine as in rivals like Hyundai Tucson or Mazda CX-5 but on the other hand, everything feels solid and built to last. Furthermore, the offer of tech and convenience features is pretty generous.
The front seats are well-shaped and offer a good level of comfort. Also, we like the driving position very much. In the back seats, you can also find plenty of room, while the cargo area also offers decent ratings for the class. You may count on about 30.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind its rear seats and 60.8 cubic feet of the total cargo volume.
Once again, we don’t expect to see significant changes, even though there is always room for minor tweaks, for a few additions to the list of standard equipment. Most things should remain the same as in the current model, which comes standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, two USB ports, a Wi-Fi hotspot, dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, and push-button start. Additionally, you can get a bigger 13.2-inch infotainment screen, along with goodies like wireless smartphone integration, navigation, HD Radio, a 10-speaker stereo, wireless device charging, remote start, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof.
When it comes to safety features, base models should come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams etc.
2024 Ford Escape Hybrid Powertrain
This aspect won’t bring any changes, so you may count on two familiar setups on offer. The first one is a classic, self-charging hybrid, which combines a 2.5-liter inline-four engine with a single electric motor, for a total output of 200 horsepower. The system comes coupled with a CVT and you can also opt for an all-wheel-drive Escape. The company claims 44 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.
The second powertrain option is a plug-in hybrid, which is based on the same gasoline engine but comes with a bigger 14.4-kWh battery and more capable electric motor, for a total output of around 210 horsepower. This version also comes with a CVT but doesn’t come with the optional all-wheel drive. On the other hand, you may enjoy pretty respectable EV autonomy of up to 37 miles.
2024 Ford Escape Hybrid Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Ford Escape Hybrid will arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 33.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, Hyundai Tucson Hybrid etc.
