The Telluride was launched just a couple of years ago and it has already become one of the most popular models in the class. It offers a lot of great things for its price, starting from the spacious and luxurious cabin, lots of tech features, capable V6 engine, good towing capacity etc. Moreover, the 2023 model year brings interesting updates, both inside and on the outside, so it’s quite easy to predict that the 2024 Kia Telluride won’t feature too many changes. On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle hasn’t changed much since the launch and we presume that state will remain. The Telluride is trimmed to be comfortable and it delivers this task with a lot of styles. At the same time, it’s quite easy to drive, though we can’t say there is too much athleticism in this chassis and suspension setup.
Interior
The recent update also brought novelties to the inside. We saw a variety of interesting updates, where the most prominent ones are those massive screens. You can see a digital instrument cluster, along with the updated infotainment screen. The cabin looks very modern and high-tech, but there are a few classic touches as well. One of the most interesting examples is the shifter, as the company decided to keep the old-school gear lever, even after this update.
Besides very good build quality and lots of features, this cabin also offers plenty of space. Three rows of seats are part of the standard equipment and even the third row can be very useful. The front seats are massive and supportive, while the second row is also very generous with space.
The cargo area also offers a lot of space. You may count on about 21 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seats, 46 cubic feet behind the second row and 87 cubic feet of the total cargo volume. These are pretty impressive numbers for a mid-size SUV.
2024 Kia Telluride Engine
Under the hood, the 2024 Kia Telluride will carry on with a familiar 3.8-liter V6, which features a max output of 291 horsepower. The engine has a lot of power to move this large SUV with ease, while it also feels quite refined. The 8-speed automatic transmission also does a pretty good job, so the whole setup feels well-calibrated.
Of course, base models come with front-wheel drive, while you can get variants with AWD as well. The Telluride isn’t a spectacular off-roader but on the other hand, it feels quite utilitarian, especially if we consider that the max towing capacity goes up to 5.500 pounds, which is slightly above average.
Fuel economy goes around 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, which is about average for the segment.
What about the 2024 Kia Telluride Hybrid?
Some sources speculate about the hybrid version of this SUV. Allegedly, Kia and Hyundai work on a new hybrid system, which would be designed for large models, such as Telluride and Palisade, for example. The system would be based on a turbo-four engine and it would feature a combined output of 300-350 horsepower.
However, this is nothing more than pure speculation at this point, so take this with a big reserve.
