The new generation of Lincoln’s mid-size SUV is coming! While the previous generation was pretty much an updated and renamed MKX, this model is the Nautilus from the start. The Blue Oval Company introduces a completely new design, with significant improvement both in terms of mechanics and aesthetics. The new model looks way more aggressive than before and also rides on the new platform.
The changes seem even more impressive on the inside, where Lincoln designers put all of their money on impressive tech features. With massive screens and new materials, the new model looks way more upscale, while there is also a completely new, optional hybrid powertrain to ensure much better fuel economy compared to the old V6.
Of course, all these improvements cost, so you should also be prepared to pay more for this SUV than before. The officials have just come up with the pricing.
2024 Lincoln Nautilus Design
The 2024 Lincoln Nautilus is coming all new and from what we can see, things look impressive. Of course, the flashiest things are the new exterior and interior designs, but let’s start with the basics first.
The first thing to talk about is the mechanical aspect of the vehicle. The new model rides on a C2 platform, the same one that underpins models like Maverick, Bronco Sport etc. Although predominately used for compact cars, it gets stretched significantly for this occasion, offering more than 114 inches in wheelbase.
Compared to the old CD4 platform, the new one should ensure a more engaging driving experience, with a higher level of athleticism, but also the ability to absorb road imperfections with ease.
Exterior
The new generation brings a completely new design. Compared to the previous model, which was characterized by a very elegant design, full of conservative design solutions, the new model seems to be more futuristic. It brings a completely new face, characterized by massive use of LED lighting groups. The headlight design also utilizes sharper edges, while the grille is bolder and more prominent. A similar treatment can be seen on the other end, while the whole body seems bolder and more muscular than before.
The 2024 Lincoln Nautilus doesn’t just look more muscular than its predecessor. It actually features bigger dimensions. We already mentioned the longer wheelbase, but the new generation is also three inches longer than the previous one. The bigger size can be noticed in other measurements too, which should all reflect more passenger space.
Interior
Although the new exterior looks great, it seems that the interior changes are even more impressive. The new cabin looks amazing and it’s easy to notice that the designers did their best to set some new standards in the segment. This particularly refers to the dashboard design, which features a monstrous 48-inch screen that spreads across the whole dashboard. Besides that, there is also an 11-inch infotainment screen on the center stack. Despite the massive use of tech features, the dashboard still looks elegant, thanks to clean lines and top-quality materials. We also like the new steering wheel design very much.
Also, there are some pretty interesting features that improve the overall level of comfort. For example, you can opt for Lincoln Rejuvenate. It is a kind of interior upgrade that includes lots of exclusive features. The cabin changes lighting, offers massaging seats and a few more features to help passengers relax completely. Among upgrades, you can also find a premium 28-speaker Revel Ultima 3D audio system, 24-way power-adjustable seats and many more.
2024 Lincoln Nautilus Engines
Big changes are coming under the hood as well, as the old V6 is getting replaced with a hybrid powertrain. However, base models will feature a gas-only setup, with a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four with around 250 horsepower. That’s practically the same engine that powered the previous model, so we count on similar performance and similar fuel economy, which should go around 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
The new hybrid system will be based on the same turbo-four engine. It will combine it with a 100-kW electric motor, for a total output of 310 horsepower. That’s 20 horsepower fewer than the old V6, so we are not sure if this Nautilus will be as quick. The old one was able to hit 60 in 5.9 seconds. On the other hand, this powertrain will ensure superior fuel economy. Some sources suggest around 37 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.
2024 Lincoln Nautilus Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus will hit the market sometime in the second half of the year. The company has just come up with the pricing and we can see that the base model will start at around 51.800 dollars. The hybrid version will be available at around $53.300, while the most exclusive variants will cost over 77.000 dollars.
