2024 Nissan Rogue: ePower Might Come to North America

The Rogue has always been one of Nissan’s biggest money makers and it looks like the new generation is capable of continuing this trend. Introduced last year, the current model has a lot of great things to offer but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the Japanese manufacturer won’t offer additional updates for the 2024 Nissan Rogue, which will represent the third production year of the new generation. According to some sources, we might see a hybrid version of the new SUV.

Other than the potential addition of a hybrid powertrain, we don’t believe that the next year’s Rogue could bring more important updates. Simply, there are many things to like about this compact SUV, starting from the spacious cabin, high-quality interior, excellent fuel economy with the gas engine, long list of standard safety features etc.

Therefore, we don’t believe that the 2024 Nissan Rogue could arrive much earlier than usual. We expect to see it sometime in the second half of the year.

2024 Nissan Rogue Powertrain Updates

As mentioned, the 2024 Nissan Rogue probably won’t feature bigger changes in terms of the overall design. On the other hand, some sources suggest the addition of a hybrid powertrain. If that happens, we have no doubt that the new Rogue would use the same system as its European twin X-Trail. That model uses Nissan’s new ePower system, which combines gasoline and electric motors in a little bit different way than we used to.

Namely, the electric motor is the one that spins the wheels, while the gasoline engine acts as a power generator. The system output is rated at 213 horsepower and 245 pound-feet of torque. So, the overall driving experience is pretty much the same as in the case of electric cars, where the max power and torque are available across the whole rev range. So, it’s no wonder that a 0-60 sprint takes just 7 seconds, which s notably quicker than similarly-powered gasoline SUVs.

On the other hand, we expect base models to continue in the same way, with a familiar 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine, which puts out around 201 horsepower. It comes coupled with a CVT gearbox, which ensures, excellent fuel economy, which goes around 30 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.

2024 Nissan Rogue Design

Other than the powertrain, we don’t expect to see bigger changes in the 2024 Nissan Rogue. Therefore, the 2024 Nissan Rogue should bring a familiar styling, based on the brand’s latest design language. It looks quite good and the best we could see in the next year’s model, in terms of updates, are new color options and similar minor tweaks.

The same thing is with the mechancis. This SUV rides on an updated CMF platform and compared to the previous generation, it feels more engaging to drive. The handling is better, but we particularly like the more responsive steering.

Interior

2024 Nissan Rogue Interior

The same thing is with interior design. We expect to see the same cabin layout, which is certainly a good thing, considering that the current generation looks really upscale from the inside. The materials are really nice, even in the base trim levels. Also, there is a pretty generous offer of tech and convenience features, which all make this SUV feel even more luxurious.

Besides quality, this SUV also offers plenty of space. The front seats are massive and supportive, some of the best in the class. The second row is also very generous with space and accommodates three adults pretty easily. Finally, the cargo area offers up to 36.5 cubic feet behind the second row, while the total cargo volume goes up to 74.1 cubic feet.

Features

Novelties in this aspect are always possible, so we might see a few additions to the list of standard equipment. On the other hand, most things should remain the same, so we presume that base models will come with an 8-inch touch screen, wired Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, a four-speaker stereo, satellite radio, Bluetooth and two USB ports.

Among available features, we expect to find things like wireless Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa Auto, a six-speaker stereo, two rear-seat USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a 9-inch touch screen, a 10-speaker Bose audio system, navigation, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, remote start, push-button start, adaptive cruise control and a panoramic moonroof.

2024 Nissan Rogue Release Date and Price

We expect to see the 2024 Nissan Rogue sometime in the second half of the year, though the more precise date is still unavailable. On the other hand, we are pretty sure that next year’s model won’t bring bigger price changes. So, base models should go around 28.000 dollars. Of course, rivals will remain the same – models like Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester etc.
