2022 Aston Martin DBX Coupe and 7-Seater Rumors

The automotive world went completely crazy with all these crossovers, so it’s no wonder that even super-luxury carmakers are offering such vehicles. Models like Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus have been around for years, while the is also an ultra-luxurious Rolls Royce Cullinan. So, it was pretty much expected to see such a vehicle from Aston Martin. The famous British carmaker came up with the model called DBX and it looks like we are about to see new iterations from this company, in the form of the 2022 Aston Martin DBX Coupe and maybe even a 7-seater.

At this point, all this is just a rumor. However, we are pretty sure that this won’t be the last crossover from Aston Martin. Moreover, new models could arrive already in a year or two. Therefore, we have no reason not to speculate about the potential design characteristics of these models. Still, keep the following paragraphs with a reserve.

2022 Aston Martin DBX Coupe Rumors

2022 Aston Martin DBX Coupe

The model that will probably come first is the 2022 Aston Martin DBX Coupe. As you may presume, this would be a coupe iteration of the standard model, which already features a bit of a sloping roof. Still, this version will go far more extreme in this aspect. Furthermore, the ground clearance could also be reduced, though the standard model is already pretty close to the ground. This would provide a sportier appearance, but most of the aesthetics would remain the same. This particularly refers to the front end, which follows the brand’s well-known styling philosophy.

Of course, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle would remain the same. Moreover, we would certainly see the same wheelbase, which measures around 120 inches. Of course, the sloping roof would have a negative impact on headroom and especially on the cargo area, which is already pretty small, given the model’s size.

Besides the coupe version, this crossover could also come in a more practical variant. Currently, no other manufacturer offers a 7-seater at this price range, but that could change soon. Some sources suggest such a layout from the 2022 Aston Martin DBX. Unlike the coupe, this version would definitely need a couple more inches between the axes. Also, we would expect rather a typical SUV layout, with the rear end that provides plenty of headroom and respectable cargo area. On the other side, the front end would remain largely the same.

In both cases, the dashboard would remain the same. This means that you may count top-tier build quality, with super-fine materials and loads of tech features, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Of curse, each model could come with a certain number of exclusive details

Powertrain

In both cases, we would see a familiar powertrain setup. This would mean a Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-liter V8 engine, which features a max output of 542 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The engine comes coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission, also from Mercedes. This engine delivers pretty impressive performances and in the standard DBX model, it returns around 14 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.

Still, we are pretty sure that neither the standard DBX, not the 2022 Aston Martin DBX Coupe and 7-seater models won’t remain on just one engine option. We do expect to see some more potent options in the offer, and this may include some sort of electrification as well.
