2022 Honda Element Dog Friendly SUV: Release Date and Price

The rumors about the Element comeback have been circulating for a very long time. So far, we haven’t heard anything from the officials and while many believe that the next generation will never happen, we simply can’t exclude the possibility to see this boxy crossover once again. It’s been a decade since we saw the last Element coming out from the factory line, so it’s easy to conclude that the new model wouldn’t have too many things in common with the original. However, the 2022 Honda Element would take a lot of inspiration from its predecessor, especially in terms of base design characteristics.

This means that designers would use the same overall approach, which is all about making a small but extremely practical SUV. That’s why we have no doubt that the new model would also come with a recognizable boxy shape, which would ensure plenty of space on the inside. Furthermore, we also count on the legendary Dog Friendly package to be offered.

2022 Honda Element Design

So, we’ve just mentioned that the overall design approach wouldn’t be much different compared to the original. What we expect to see is a small boxy crossover, which is perfectly designed for urban jungles. As we are talking about the subcompact segment, it’s easy to conclude that some of the parts would be shared with Honda HR-V, which is also about to come all-new soon.

This refers mostly to mechanics. On the other hand, the visual aspect of the 2022 Honda Element should remain completely unique. We don’t expect to see too many similarities with the rest of the lineup, not even at the front. This SUV will continue with its famous boxy design, and we believe it would be really hard to implement Honda’s current design language to such a body shape. That’s why the front face should also look pretty unique.

Interior

The cabin of the original model was a real deal. Yes, the overall quality wasn’t all that good but on the other hand, that model was impressive when it comes to space and practicality. Thanks to the boxy shape, this SUV was huge from the inside. The amount of headroom was impressive, so adult passengers were able to fit in both rows with ease. Also, the cargo area offered a pretty impressive volume. The fact that it features a square shape made it perfect for loading bulky objects.

2022 Honda Element

So, we expect nothing less from the 2022 Honda Element. It may even come with the same sliding doors as the original. What needs to change is the dashboard design, which should offer better quality, better ergonomics and new technologies. We have no doubt that the new one will take a lot of inspiration from the company’s latest models, such as the upcoming next-generation CR-V.

2022 Honda Element Engines

This aspect shouldn’t bring any particular surprises. We count on Honda’s familiar engine options and most likely, there will be two of them in the offer. We presume that older generations of Honda lovers still want to see a good-old naturally-aspirated engine in the offer, so base versions will probably come with a 2.0-liter inline-four, which puts out around 155 horsepower. On the other hand, higher trim levels will probably offer a newer-generation 1.5-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 180 horsepower.

Both engines will come in pair with a CVT gearbox, though we won’t exclude the possibility to see a manual gearbox in the offer as well, especially with the base engine.

What About Dog Friendly Package?

The original model was great for short adventure trips and there is no better companion than a dog in those occasions. That’s why the previous model was available with the Dog Friendly package, which included all kinds of features to make your dog’s journey more comfortable. There were things like a soft-sided crate with a built-in, spill-resistant water bowl, an electric cooling fan in the cargo hold, portable ramp, unique dog-pattern seat covers, a swag bag with accessories like a collar, leash, poop-bag dispenser and ID tag, and unique badges on the outside.

We presume that the new 2022 Honda Element Dog Friendly SUV would come with a similar package on the offer, maybe even as a part of standard equipment. More details should come in the future.

2022 Honda Element Release Date and Price

At this point, the new Element is just a rumor, but various sources suggest we could see it already in the next year. When it comes to the 2022 Honda Element price, we presume that base versions would go somewhere between 20.000 and 25.000 dollars.

    • That was the one of the best small suvs I have ever own.2004 blue with the rocking front drivers side seat. It’s 50 times better than the passport. I put 25 2x6x12 foot decking boards inside when replacing my deck with room to spare.the guy at home depot said they’ll never fit haha.

  2. Best car ever! Bought it new 2004, and I’m still driving it 2022. I bought it in Houston TX. Drove to Missouri was there fir 4 years. Drove it to Redwood NY, then drove it all the way to California. That was back in 2012. I’ve gone camping I don’t know how many times. Used it as a moving van. My Siberia Husky loved it, I may still have some of his fur in a nook somewhere in here, he passed away. It’s over two hundred thousand miles, and I use it for Instacart/Grubhub/Ubereats. Still going strong 18 years later!

  6. Yes, I love my Honda Element too. Bought brand new in 2003 and still have it. I don’t know why in the world Honda stopped making them. That was a real bad mistake on their part. They’ve lost out of a gagoogles of sales when they stopped making it, because people love the Element. Roomy, sporty, love the side doors opening, great for utility and as a work vehicle, and carry loads of stuff. They definitely missed out on big sales by no longer making them. I can guarantee you though, should they ever bring it back, people will flock to buy them.
