2024 Mitsubishi Outlander Changes: PHEV, Sport Models

It wasn’t the end of the world when Mitsubishi turned the Eclipse into a crossover. Fans were also surprised seeing the the Evolution badge finds its way on an SUV rather than a sedan. We could also hear rumors about the high-performance tuning of the Nissan Rouge. The job was offered to the Ralliart in-house tuner. Some fans already imagined a more powerful take on the latest-generation 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander. The same sources from the Land of the Rising Sun claim it’ll use the plug-in hybrid setup only. We could just do without the hood scoop. But other than that, it doesn’t look that bad as long as you’ve gotten used to the strange headlight layout.

Riding near to the ground and containing dual exhaust tips, Mitsu’s fourth-generation SUV is rather attractive in the supposed Evolution attire. It was apparently scheduled to break cover at the Toyota Motor Show. But, the event was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. It’s unclear at this point when the debut is planned to take place. It is still uncertain whether it will happen at all because we still have doubts it’s truly coming.

2024 Mitsubishi Outlander Facelift and Specifications Update

While the Ralliart moniker is officially coming back per Mitsubishi’s financial report for the previous year, the company didn’t go into any facts about how it will apply the revived branding. It also doesn’t help that when the new Outlander PHEV was revealed a couple of weeks ago, the Japanese brand was shy on technical specifications.

Horsepower and torque numbers for the PHEV model are still unknown. But, we do know the front and rear electric motors add “around 40 percent” more ponies than before. The specs of the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander internal combustion engine are not available. Although, it could be identical to the 2.4-liter introduced with the retiring model. That one had outputs of 221 hp (165 kilowatts). Not a bad start, especially knowing that more potent electric motors are coming for the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.

Unnecessary to say, a potential Outlander Evolution would have to awaken the power. Plus, we expect to get extra hardware changes to match the more aggressive styling. According to rumors, this hybrid will have a premiere in June 2022 in Japan.
