The 2024 Toyota Venza will represent the fourth production year of the revived nameplate in North America and from what we know so far, it may get a few important updates. At this point, the officials are still quiet but different sources suggest we could see a new, optional powertrain, which would offer better performance than the current hybrid setup. Most likely, that would be another hybrid setup, the same one that powers the new Toyota Crowd, rumors suggest. Other than that, we could see a few more minor updates.
Other than that, the overall design will remain largely the same. We expect to see the same attractive crossover design, which is complemented by a smooth and comfortable ride, good fuel economy and a very nice interior. The list of standard and available equipment is also pretty long, while the key complaints go to the loud engine and small cargo area.
We expect that the 2024 Toyota Venza will hit the market sometime in the second half of the year.
2024 Toyota Venza Could Get New Powertrain Option!?
At this point, the 2024 Toyota Venza is available with just a single powertrain. That is a familiar system that already powers models like the RAV4, with a system based on a 2.5-liter inline-four. This Atkinson-Cycle engine gets help from a couple of electric motors, for a combined output of 219 horsepower. Although that doesn’t provide spectacular performance, drivers benefit from petty impressive fuel economy for an SUV, which goes around 40 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.
However, many believe that Venza, with its stylish appearance and high-quality interior, deserves something more capable. Therefore, it’s no wonder that many sources suggest a new, more powerful version of the crossover. Allegedly, we could see the same setup seen in Toyota Crown, which is also a hybrid system, but based on a 2.4-liter turbo-four, with a combined output of 340 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Besides significantly more power, this system would also include a classic 6-speed automatic transmission, instead of the uninspiring CVT, found in the base model.
2024 Toyota Venza Design
We believe that it’s still early for a mid-cycle refresh. Therefore, the 2024 Toyota Venza most likely won’t feature significant design changes. We expect to see the same styling, which definitely looks more attractive compared to most Toyota models. The front end looks pretty aggressive, while the sloping roofline provides that couple-like appearance.
The same is with mechanics. This SUV features most of the parts with RAV4, so the ride quality is similar, though we feel that the Venza offers a little bit more athleticism. Still, the vehicle is still mostly about comfort and smooth ride, which makes it perfect for longer journeys.
Along with a soft suspension setup, the high level of comfort also comes from untypically good sound insulation for a Toyota, while the front seats are well-shaped and pretty comfortable. The second row is also very generous with legroom, though the sloping roof limits headroom for a bit. As a result, taller passengers may feel a little bit tight. The cargo area offers around 28.8 cubic feet of space behind its rear seats and 55.1 cubic feet with these seats folded down, which is a pretty low rating for an SUV of this size.
On the other hand, Venza’s cabin really impresses in terms of overall quality. Besides attractive aesthetics, the cabin also features pretty nice materials, along with a lot of attention to detail. Everything feels assembled very well, while the generous amount of tech features, make everything look even more upscale.
When it comes to updates, we presume that the 2024 Toyota Venza could bring some additions to the list of standard equipment, but most things should remain the same. Therefore, we expect that most things will remain the same. For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hot spot, the ”Hey Toyota” virtual assistant, Bluetooth, five USB ports, a six-speaker stereo, HD Radio, satellite radio, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control and ambient lighting.
The additions for the next year may come from the current list of options. Some of the highlights are things like a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic moonroof, nine-speaker audio system.
2024 Toyota Venza Release Date and Price
Despite the potential updates, the 2024 Toyota Venza might come a little bit earlier than usual, though still within the second half of this year. When it comes to the price, base models should go around 35.000 dollars.
