The company’s mid-size crossover has been around for a while and the 2024 Cadillac XT6 will represent the fifth production year. Therefore, it’s no wonder that there is a big update on the way. From what we know so far, this will be a typical mid-cycle refresh, which will bring novelties in various aspects, primarily in terms of aesthetics. Still, that probably won’t be the only part of the vehicle to receive updates. We also expect to see novelties on the inside, while there are also reports about the new powertrain option.
In any case, the next year’s model will bring a lot of novelties but at the same time, things won’t change so drastically. We will still be seeing the same SUV, which has a lot of good things to offer, starting from the comfortable ride, efficient base engine and a good portion of standard and available equipment.
Considering the update, the 2024 Cadillac XT6 might arrive a little bit earlier than usual, sometime in the third half of the year.
2024 Cadillac XT6 Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Cadillac XT6 should receive a mid-cycle refresh. Therefore, we expect to see a good portion of visual updates. At this point, details are still unknown, but we presume most of the changes would happen at the front. We could see things like revised headlights, grille and front bumper, while the rear end might come with some revisions too. Typically for mid-cycle updates, we expect to see some new color options and wheel designs on offer as well.
These changes would make the XT6 look better but the overall design won’t change. The next year’s model will continue to ride on a familiar C1 platform, with a layout that includes a transversally-mounted engine and front-wheel drive (AWD is available, of course), which is often seen as a main drawback compared to the competition, which mostly comes with RWD layouts. That is one of the reasons why the XT6 doesn’t offer the same level of driving engagement as some rivals, such as the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE.
Interior
Although this SUV features a pretty nice cabin, the problem is that rivals are better. Simply, areas with hard plastics are something you don’t expect in this segment and that’s why many believe that the 2024 Cadillac XT6 could bring improvements in this aspect, by offering nicer materials and bringing new color schemes. We could also see some dashboard revisions, especially on the center stack, where we could even see a new, bigger infotainment screen.
On the other hand, we count on the same layout and seating configuration. This model features three rows of seats and accommodates six or seven passengers, depending on the second-row seating configuration. The first two rows are generous with space and pretty comfortable, while the third row is typically tight for the segment.

We already mentioned the possibility to see a new infotainment screen, while a completely new, digital instrument cluster is also possible. Of course, that wouldn’t be the only update. We presume that some of the current options may become part of the standard equipment as well.
For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, six USB ports, HD Radio, satellite radio, an eight-speaker stereo, and a Wi-Fi hot spot, as well as tri-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, remote start, and a panoramic sunroof
Among options, you can find things like an 8-inch digital gauge cluster, navigation, a 14-speaker stereo and wireless device charging. We presume some of these could become part of the standard equipment.
2024 Cadillac XT6 Engines
The 2024 Cadillac XT6 will most likely continue with two familiar engine options. Base models would continue with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It’s enough power for decent performance but what we really like is very good fuel economy. With this engine, you may expect something like 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, which is above average for the segment.
Also, we count on a more potent, 3.6-liter V6, which puts out 310 horsepower and 271 horsepower and offers notably better performance than the turbo-four. However, it is also notably thirstier, as it returns around 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
Finally, some sources speculate about the possibility to see the V6 replaced with the new 2.7-liter turbo-four. If that happens, we presume that the new XT6 would feature around 300 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque.
2024 Cadillac XT6 Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Cadillac XT6 could arrive next fall. The price shouldn’t be significantly different compared to the current model, which starts at around 50.000 dollars.
