The 2024 Hyundai Tucson will represent the third production year of the current generation in North America and the fourth production year globally. Therefore, it’s no wonder that some sources already speculate bout a facelift. Allegedly, the company plans to bring a few interesting updates, to make this amazing SUV even better. Of course, visual enhancements are one of the first things that come to mind, but rumors also speculate about powertrain upgrades.
Still, these updates shouldn’t change the nature of the vehicle. The overall layout will remain the same, so you may count on an SUV that has so many great things to offer, starting from a luxurious cabin, a long list of standard and available equipment, and a pretty wide powertrain offer, which could become even wider, as we already mentioned.
Despite the potential update, we don’t believe that the 2024 Hyundai Tucson could arrive much earlier than usual. We expect to see it in the last quarter of the year.
2024 Hyundai Tucson Design
As we’ve just mentioned, this is still a quite fresh model on the market. However, the Korean manufacturer is known for short production cycles and frequent update, so rumors about the 2024 Hyundai Tucson facelift doesn’t sound all that unlikely. Of course, the vast majority of updates would be in terms of aesthetics, where the unique grille and headlights design would probably remain the same, but we would see a new, more aggressive bumper design. A few more changes could be made, all in order to make this model look bolder.
On the other hand, we are pretty sure that the mechanical aspect of the vehicle is about to remain the same. This SUV offers a balance chassis and suspension setup, which offers a decent level of driving experience but remains smooth and comfortable.
Interior
When it comes to interior design, we don’t really expect to see more important updates. Simply, the current model already features one of the nicest interiors in the class, with fine materials, elegant aesthetics and good overall build quality. We don’t see how this interior could bring upgrades, though we won’t exclude the possibility to see things like new materials and color schemes. Some new tech features could be added as well.
In any case, the overall layout will remain the same. The Tucson features a quite long wheelbase for the segment, so it’s no wonder that the offer of passenger space is pretty generous. The front seats are spacious and comfortable, and we also like the driving position. The second row is also very generous with space and accommodates taller passengers in a nice fashion. Finally, there is the cargo area, with 38.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind its rear seats and 74.8 in total, which is excellent for the compact SUV class.
Features
As we’ve just mentioned, the Korean manufacturer could expand the list of standard equipment and add some new tech and convenience features. However, we don’t expect to see anything significant. Therefore, base models should come with an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HD radio, a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, two USB ports, an analog gauge cluster and remote keyless entry.
Among upgrades, we expect to see goodies like a 10.2-inch touch screen, navigation, wireless device charging, satellite radio, an eight-speaker stereo, two additional USB ports, a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, a digital key app, ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof.
The same thing is with safety features, where we expect base models to be equipped with goodies like a rearview camera, driver-attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control etc.
2024 Hyundai Tucson Engines
This is where the biggest novelties are expected. If we can trust rumors, the 2024 Hyundai Tucson will bring an additional engine option, a 2.5-liter turbo-four, with 281 horsepower. The engine would probably come in pair with a dual-clutch automatic transmission and we count on a pretty impressive performance.
On the other hand, the rest of the lineup should carry on in the same way, so base models will certainly continue with a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated inline-four, which puts out around 191 horsepower. There are also two hybrid powertrains, both based on a 1.6-liter turbo-four. The first one is a classic self-charging hybrid, with 226 horsepower, while the other one is a plug-in hybrid that puts out 261 horsepower, and also offers 33 miles of the all-electric range.
2024 Hyundai Tucson Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Hyundai Tucson will arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year. Base models should go around 27.500 dollars, while the hybrid should start at around 32.000 dollars. Models like VW Tiguan and Nissan Rogue will remain some of the key competitors.
