2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 Electric SUV Preview

The Korean carmaker was one of the first companies to invest serious resources in electrification and as a result, the complete lineup is on the way with some of the most advanced technologies in the industry. Among the new models, the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 is arguably one of the most interesting units to come. This will be one of the biggest vehicles in the lineup, a proper family hauler with strong performances and a great all-rounder.

This will be a three-row SUV, with similar proportions to the Palisade. The model has already been previewed by the Seven concept last year, but we presume that the production version will feature a slightly different design, more production-friendly, we would say.

The exact launch date is still unavailable, but we expect the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 to hit the market sometime in the second half of 2023.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 Design

The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 is one of several brand-new models that are coming the next year. It will ride on the new E-GMP platform, the same one that underpins the Ioniq 5, as well as the Kia EV9 models. As we already mentioned, this will be a three-row crossover, a proper family hauler. The advanced architecture will provide many benefits, including super-fast charging capability and excellent overall performance.

In terms of styling, we presume that a lot of inspiration will be taken from the Seven concepts, which were presented in 2021. That vehicle came with a super-futuristic look, which combines clean lines with a boxy shape, in a pretty elegant manner. Of course, the most prominent is the front end, characterized by a very narrow horizontal LED bar and a rectangular grille with a rectangular pattern. Naturally, the production version will probably come with a slightly toned-down styling.

Interior

The concept version came with a pretty extravagant styling that looked more like a lounge than a car cabin. The L-shaped sofa and fancy seats are the most interesting things about it, but we are pretty sure that the production version will come with a more conservative approach. We expect to see a typical SUV cabin, with three rows of seats and enough room to accommodate 7 or 8 passengers with ease.

When it comes to the dashboard design, we expect to see a minimalistic design approach, which would include a simple layout with a massive screen on the center stack, which would replace pretty much all physical controls.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 Drivetrain, Battery, Range

At this point, the company still keeps most details a secret. We still don’t know the numbers, whether it’s about the power or the max range. We presume that the new SUV will be offered in two or more variants when it comes to drivetrain configuration, including both 2WD and 4WD versions.

When it comes to the battery, we still don’t know the exact capacity, but we expect to see a range that’s typical for the segment, which would mean around 300 miles on a single charge. On the other hand, we know that the new model will be based on the company’s latest battery technology, which will ensure fast charging speeds that go up to 350kW. As a result, we expect that the DC fast charger will be able to charge from 10 to 80 percent of the battery in just 20 minutes. Also, we expect to see some kind of advanced semi-autonomous driving system.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 Release Date and Price

We expect to see the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 sometime in the second half of 2023. The latest reports suggest a starting price of around $50.000, while the range-topping versions will probably go over 70.000 dollars. Models like Rivian R1S and Cadillac Lyriq could be some of the key competitors.
