The second generation of Audi’s entry-level crossover in North America has been around since 2018. So far, we haven’t seen any notable changes, which is one of the reasons why many believe that the 2024 Audi Q3 could receive a facelift. Allegedly, the Ingolstadt compact prepares a major update, which would keep the current generation fresh and competitive for several more years, until it gets replaced with an all-electric successor.
At this point, details about the update are still unavailable. The company still keeps most details a secret but we may presume that the focus will be on aesthetics. We presume that the next year’s model could come with notably updated styling, as well as with some mechanical tweaks. On the other hand, we don’t believe that the interior could come with bigger changes, because it already looks great.
Considering the possible updates, the 2024 Audi Q3 could arrive a little bit earlier than usual, but still within the second half of 2023.
2024 Audi Q3 Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Audi Q3 could receive a mid-cycle refresh. We presume that most updates would be about the styling. Considering that Audi is a pretty conservative carmaker when it comes to aesthetics, we are pretty sure that this facelift wouldn’t bring anything radical. Instead, we would probably see a few tweaks to the front, in areas like headlights, grille etc. Of course, we could see a couple of tweaks on the rear end, while things like new wheels and color options seem like a certain thing.
On the other hand, we don’t believe that this update could bring bigger mechanical changes. The next year’s model would continue with the same or very similar suspension and chassis setup, riding on the mainstream MQB platform, the same that underpins models like VW Jetta or Tiguan.
Interior
On the other hand, we don’t believe that the 2024 Audi Q3 could bring bigger changes to the inside. Simply, the current interior already looks pretty amazing. It features a conventional design but is combined with pretty nice materials and excellent build quality. Furthermore, there is a long list of tech features, standard and optional, which make the cabin look even more upscale.
Besides great overall quality, this cabin also offers a decent amount of passenger space. The front seats are massive and supportive, offering a high level of comfort. The second row is also decently sized, and the seats can slide and recline. That’s highly convenient but only for two passengers. Fitting three adults in the second row is impossible, due to the ridiculously large center tunnel.
The cargo area is decent for the class. You may count on about 23.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row and 48 cubic feet of the total cargo volume, while it’s also good to know that the power liftgate is part of the standard equipment.
Features
Naturally, this update should also bring some novelties in terms of standard and available equipment. We expect more standard features, though the current model is already pretty decent in this aspect. It comes standard with things like tri-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, an 8.8-inch touch screen, a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, gesture controls, handwriting recognition, wireless device charging, four USB ports, HD Radio, a 10-speaker audio system and Bluetooth.
The current model also comes with lots of optional features and some of them could easily become standard in the next year. Some of the highlights are goodies like a 10.1-inch touch screen, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, Amazon Alexa Auto, navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot, satellite radio and a 15-speaker Sonos audio system, proximity keyless entry, a hands-free power liftgate, a universal garage door opener, push-button start and remote start.
2024 Audi Q3 Engines
We don’t expect bigger changes in this aspect. So, the 2024 Audi Q3 should carry on with two familiar powertrain options. The base model comes with a 2.0-liter turbo-four that puts out around 184 horsepower, which is plenty enough for daily commuting. If you look for something more capable, and more suitable for the open road, the same engine is available in a variant with 228 horsepower, which offers notably better performance.
The base engine offers fuel economy of around 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, while the more powerful variant is good for about 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
2024 Audi Q3 Release Date and Price
As we already mentioned, the 2024 Audi Q3 could arrive a little bit earlier than usual but still within the second half of 2023. The price shouldn’t change much compared to the current model, which goes at around 38.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, Volvo XC40 etc.
