2024 Chevy Tahoe Is Getting Mid-Cycle Update

The current generation was introduced in 2021, which indicates that the 2024 Chevy Tahoe will represent the fourth production year and that means that we may expect big updates. The test mule has already been spotted on the road and it clearly shows that GM engineers are working on a mid-cycle refresh. This should be a typical facelift, with styling enhancements in mind, though we wouldn’t exclude the possibility to see updates in other aspects as well, particularly in terms of the interior design. On the other hand, we don’t believe that the 2024 Chevy Tahoe could bring more important changes under the hood.

All in all, these updates will make the SUV more appealing, though we have no doubt that the overall layout is about to remain the same. We expect to see the same SUV, which offers plenty of interior space, a long list of standard and available equipment and a very generous cargo area. Furthermore, there is a pretty broad range of powertrain options, including a diesel.

2024 Chevy Tahoe Design

So, what we expect to see from the 2024 Chevy Tahoe is a typical mid-cycle refresh. The focus will be on aesthetics and the test mule already wears a lot of camouflage. Naturally, we expect most novelties to be applied to the front end, where we could see things like new headlights, new grille, bumper etc. Of course, these parts would be inspired by the refreshed Silverado, so we expect to see a similarly-styled front face.

The rear end is also expected to get updates. Various sources suggest a new tailgate, along with the new rear bumper, which would hide the exhaust pipes. Also, we expect to see things like new wheels, new color options etc. On the other hand, we don’t expect to see bigger changes in terms of the chassis and suspension design.

Interior

Interior updates are possible too, though not as significant. The current model already features a nice-looking cabin, with the decent overall quality. The dashboard looks nice, though it could get some revisions, especially in terms of the center stack, with new controls and an infotainment screen. We would also like to see nicer materials because the current model features many areas with visible hard plastics.

On the other hand, the overall layout won’t change. The 2024 Chevy Tahoe will continue with a cabin that’s very generous with space. Even the third row is spacious enough to accommodate adults, while the first two rows are pretty impressive in this aspect. We also like the front seats which, besides space, also offer good side support.

The cargo area is another super strong point of this SUV. It offers around 25.5 cubic feet of room behind the third row, 72.6 cubic feet behind the second row and 122.9 cubic feet in total, which is notably more space than you get from key rivals, such as Ford Expedition and Jeep Wagoneer.

Features

We presume that this update could also bring a few notable updates in terms of standard equipment. For example, base models could come with things like bigger infotainment screens, while a digital instrument cluster could also become part of the standard equipment.

Few more novelties are possible here and there, but let’s keep in mind that the current model is already equipped pretty well. It comes standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio, Bluetooth, voice recognition, a six-speaker audio system and six USB ports. The current model also comes standard with goodies like tri-zone automatic climate control, two 120-volt household-style power outlets, remote start and proximity keyless entry.

Among upgrades, there are things like a 10.2-inch touch screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, navigation, wireless device charging, a second-row entertainment system, a nine-speaker Bose audio system and a 10-speaker Bose surround-sound audio system, as well as a panoramic sunroof, a universal garage door opener and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. We presume some of these options could become part of the standard equipment.

2024 Chevy Tahoe Engines

We don’t expect bigger changes in this aspect, so the 2024 Chevy Tahoe should come with three familiar powertrain options on offer. Base models would continue with a 5.3-liter V8 that puts out 355 horsepower, while the more capable 6.2-liter unit with 420 horsepower will be available.

Also, there is a 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel, which puts out 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Besides strong performance, this diesel also offers a pretty impressive fuel economy of up to 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
