The legendary off-roader has been around for decades and the current generation was the first one to receive some sort of electrification. We are talking about the Wrangler 4xe, which was introduced a few years ago and is expected to carry on in the same way. The 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe should come with a familiar design and features, as well as the same powertrain setup. On the other hand, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple of updates regarding the standard and available equipment, new trim levels and equipment groups etc.
All in all, the next year’s version will continue to be offered in a variety of versions, including the most capable off-roaders with this powertrain. This SUV offers great driving dynamics, in a combination with well-known design and features. Since there are no significant changes to come, we presume it will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Powertrain
Of course, the most interesting thing about this particular Wrangler will remain its powertrain. We are about to see the same setup, based on a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which comes in a combination with a single electric motor and a 17.3-kWh battery pack. The total system output is rated at 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, which is plenty enough to ensure pretty impressive driving dynamics.
Besides strong performance, this Wrangler also offers up to 21 miles of the all-electric range. The average fuel economy goes around 49 mpg-e, while the battery needs around 12 hours to fully recharge via a household-style outlet. Of course, all this can be done much faster with the optional 240-V outlet.
2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Design
When it comes to the overall design, the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe won’t change at all. We are about to see the same styling and mechanics, which means that the PHEV Wrangler will be available only in a bigger, four-door Unlimited body style, with optional removable roof and doors. When it comes to mechanics, a great thing about this version is that it is available in various trim levels, including variants like Rubicon, where you get a full load of additional off-road features, such as upgraded suspension, locking differential, off-road tires and many more.
The same thing is with interior design. This SUV looks pretty nice from the inside, despite its rugged nature. The dashboard looks attractive, and there is also a decent amount of tech and convenience features. As only the four-door model is available, you may count on two very generous rows of seats, which both accommodate adults with ease. Furthermore, the cargo area offers 31.7 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 72.4 cubic feet in total, which is pretty impressive for the class.
Trim Levels
Although we might see a few novelties in terms of standard and available equipment, the basic trim level organization shouldn’t change. Therefore, we expect to see Willys as the base trim level. It would come with goodies like 17-inch wheels with 32-inch mud-terrain tires, LED headlights and foglights, blacked grille, tinted rear windows, power-adjustable side mirrors, dual-zone climate control, cloth upholstery, 7-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Satellite radion and 9-speaker audio.
The Sahara trim will be next in the line, with upgrades like 20-inch wheels, full-time 4×4, all-season tires, LED taillights, upgraded interior materials, a bigger 8.4-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fit hotspot etc.
The Rubicon will remain the best off-roader in the lineup, with features like 33-inch all-terrain tires, heavy-duty axles with shorter gear ration, low-range gearing, electronic locking front and rear differentials, disconnecting stabilizer bar, rock rails etc.
Finally, there is the most luxurious High Altitude trim, with 20-inch wheels, body-color bumpers, dark exterior details, power-locking fuel door, leather upholstery, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors and many more.

2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe will arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 56.500 dollars. For comparison, gas-powered Wranglers in the two-door variant are available already at around 32.000 dollars. When it comes to competition, rivals like Bronco and 4Runner don’t have electrified versions on offer at this moment.
